What'd we do this weekend...ski, ski, ski.

Saturday morning didn't bring the arctic mega-blast (not that mega-blast) we were promised but we already had the sess scheduled for 1:30 pm. Temps in the single digits, good skiing weather. 3 hours & we were all gassed.

on the way back we picked up aaron g., again here we are at the regroup spot, jb leaning on his poles reflects the unanimous feeling of the group...gassed!

late start, sweat going on, sun going down...chilly

Sunday...10:00 am start.

already pushing 20 degrees at game time, c-bread prepares the wax for our assault...

k-dub with his phone out again, 1st photo above he also has his phone out, here he's helping james b. register for DK, the wonders of 3g. james kind of has that "what have I just done" look on his face. Welcome aboard man, it'll be fun, in a sick, hurty kind of way:)

I did get a couple jams in on the trainer this weekend as well, keepin' it real...

Tuesday night at 6:00 is our next scheduled event in Wilderness, see ya out there.

found myself out of town on deliveries again, weather was crappy!...

Passed on the ski last night, we battled Super Mario Bros. on the Wii instead. Hardly relaxing, my thumbs hurt:)

Forecast is for more snow but dangerous wind chills the next couple days. We'll see how tough we are, or stupid:)

it's never to cold...

bikes are not on the agenda at the moment. sure we could ride but for how long? last year we hid out in wilderness even on the coldest days when it was well below zero. this year...there's just too much snow in the park to even attempt to ride it. can't believe I'm saying it but it's all about skiing right now. I'm not anti-ski, it's just that we never get that much snow so it really hasn't been an option for me. I've thought about getting skis the past couple years but we just don't get that much snow around here...until now.

C-bread gathered me around 8:15 this morning, temp was -7 or something like that. The wind was very light so it wasn't a factor...just minus 7 or something like that. Butch & m-dub did the bike-ski-bike (hard men) & then k-dub rolled up, sweet! 5 fools out for a ski:)

3 hours just flew by & except for the first 15 minutes or so I wasn't cold at all. Thanks guys for a great time.

Today felt like Sunday but it was Saturday! Suh-weet! One more day of freedom!

C-bread shows how humbling this sport can be. We had a big laugh over this sequence apres-ski. He's cleaned this downhill numerous times until I was waiting at the bottom with camera ready. He survived...

So I'm a week into this XC skiing business. Shoulders, triceps, right collar-bone?, & the GROIN all getting worked! No joke. Learning something new can be fun & challenging but painful as well. I've got a ways to go to get any where near some of this crews speed & skill, may never happen but I'll have some fun along the way:)

Heading out again tomorrow & maybe try the bike on Sunday?
