jimmy...

Oddly enough, the guy chasing me in the first photo...
...and this big wooden groundhog have the same name. Weird. We had a great time up in Wisco last weekend. Great group of guys to travel with, thanks Wood-man, JB, & Mod.

The USGP of CX is the real deal, top notch. These people know how to put on a bike race. Found myself on the podium Saturday with last year's 45+ series winner Michael McShane & birthday boy/friend TP. Pretty cool.
Louisville, KY is the next stop on the tour in just a few short weeks. Am I ready? Getting there.

here we go again...

Round 1 of the USGP is this weekend, destination Sun Prairie, WI (Madison area). Made the trip last year with Wood-man & it was a ton-o-fun. Am I ready for cross, I guess so. Its been a strange year leading up to this point. Physically...feeling pretty good, mentally...working on that.
As always...reasonable expectations.

I wore shoes today...

Good start to a Saturday! I love bread, I love french toast, I love love Texas toast. Below is pieces 5 & 6, probably could of put back one more before I crossed in to the discomfort zone.
If I have to put on shoes (instead of flip-flops) when I walk the dogs in the morning then I know it's fairly cool out. I put on shoes. Rendezvous with the boyz scheduled, I left the house in a vest & arm warmers. Most outer wear I've had on since probably early May. You have upper 50's in the winter & you think it's a heat wave, upper 50's after what we've been through this summer & you think snow may start falling.
It ended up being perfect out. I ditched the vest but kept on the arm warmers, didn't need them really but just left them on. The session was a goodee, hell yeah! Wrapped up the outing with a cup @ Cultiva, 737 S. 11th.
Today, even a bit cooler...I've got shoes on.

three-fittee...

Long day yesterday. At work @ 5:30am, drove 200 miles delivering water throughout Gage County, picked up Wood-nuts @ 4:30 pm, drove to Omaha to join the Omaha crew for a CX session, dropped off/picked up some stuff at TREK Omaha, dropped off the mtb race stuff @ Feagen's, then dropped off some supplies at the Millard branch of my work. Whew! In bed by 11:00 pm & back up again @ 4:00am this morning.

Course was suh-weet! Great job guys. Power, power, power!! These guys have stumbled on a jewel. A retired golf course that UNO keeps maintaining & (so far) doesn't care that they use. The track they have laid down is wicked, a bit of everything. Hardest session of the fall for sure, thanks bros!

20 minutes after the jam the skies opened up & dumped a crazy amount of rain, perfect timing.

So ended up driving about 350 miles total yesterday. Damn!

Thanks Mark, Randy, & the Omaha crew...we'll be back.

long weekend...

...and it's only Saturday. Friday afternoon started with a road trip...
doesn't matter where for these two, just as long as they are included...
destination...
Friday night lights...
snacks provided, cookies were dry but can't go wrong with chocolate covered pretzels...
Columbus Scotus took a beating...
not mine...
return trip later that night, fog was nuts...
In bed just before 1:00 am & then out to the lake for some mtb action...
the lynchpin...
as always, great seeing ya...
Thanks to everyone that came out to the race today, it went well. To Coach, Schmidt-dog, & Matt T., we pulled it off...somehow. Beautiful day at the lake, oh yeah...glad it's over.

Tomorrow...head to work @ 6:00 am to take care of an event we donate to and then I'll have a chance to ride. Damn, long freaking weekend...
