OMAHA CX...

2 days of racing just up the road, see ya up there.

Well I got my new phone at work & it was a lateral move instead of an upgrade. If you take into account I had to go to the Verizon store to get my numbers transfered & the fact that I don't have the software yet to download my crappy pictures maybe its actually a downgrade. I should get a real camera...

See ya Saturday!

ok, now I'm ready for CX...

Couldn't start off my season without some shin-burger. Went down in a slick corner last night & took a pedal to the shin.
Heading to Madison Friday for the weekend. Having been up that way since around '89 (I think). Drove from Boulder to Madison to Alpine Valley for a weekend with the boys.

happy to not be racing my bike...

Rough week. Our smaller dog has been sick since mid-day Tuesday. Until last night when he ate a tablespoon of hamburger & rice he hadn't eaten since Tuesday morning. Two trips to the vet, constant throwing up, & very little sleep made it a stressful week to say the least. Sobering words from the vet last night, "if he doesn't stop throwing up we'll have to hospitalize him". Well, it didn't come to that...last night he didn't throw up his pills & he ate the before mentioned table-spoon of hamburger & rice. With my wife having to work today, I'm pulling nursing duties. Administering pills & small amounts of food while making sure none of it is coming back up. So far so good, he appears to be on the mend:) I couldn't be happier to not be racing.
pretty pathetic, he's pretty worn out...
This one...she's confused as hell. Can't figure out why so much attention is being directed away from her. She knows somethings up & has been giving her brother some space. Then again, she's always confused as hell...
Feeding myself. Farm eggs from Norfolk, veggie dogs, & soy cheese. Oh yeah...
On the bright side...having to stick around the house is a good thing. There's plenty of house stuff to do & I haven't even got my pit bike-build finished. Rocked my tubulars over at the secret test facility Thursday evening, all good. I'll duck out for a session at some point today.

another dump...

Thanks to everyone that came out to the mtb race at BO. The rain & the postponement made the course even better! Conditions were perfecto! Baxter & Scooter keeping it real at registration...
Chet, Anna, & Jon Downey officiating & scoring. Great job guys! Jon...pleasure working with you...
Coach & Leggo surveying the countryside...
Trevor & Poolboy holding down registration. Aaron calmly processed the masses & Trevor white knuckled the results processing. You guys were awesome!
I think this award winning pic is Noah Burke taking the "W" in the Jrs race, sweet ride bro! He'd already done a 5 mile run at Pioneers in the morning then hung around & helped us tear down, thanks man...
Monday morning sunrise at work. I've said it before, if my camera phone can make it look good it must have been beautiful...
Monday night round 2 in the books. Bottom line, it takes me at least an hour-15 to do it Stu's way...
CX is here. Heading up to Madison, WI for the USGP next weekend...

dump...

lots of these at work...
my local P.O., lady rockin' the Bentley. Which is wierder...the Bentley in Lincoln or this lady going to the post office for herself? I circled the parking lot to attain this bad picture...
cougar's paw...
mmmm, orange mushrooms...
mmmm, mushrooms the size of pancakes...
one down, 3 to go. an hour & 15 minutes to glue one tire the Stu Thorne way, I don't know if that's reasonable but it went pretty well. I'm no expert that's for sure. At least 1/2 this picture is clear, I'm considering upgrading to an actual camera. Or maybe this...but is just a regular camera also?
See some of you folks tomorrow at the postponed mtb race, Craigio & I spent a couple hours out there tweaking things after last night's rain. We made the right call...

5 pounds of s%#! in a 1 pound bag...
Road trip last night. Omaha. Highgear for the tents & then Roxy & Ryan's new crib for the Psycowpath stuff. I actually could have jammed a bit more in the Forester, not bad.

If you're not tuned in...Midwest Wheelmasters, a.k.a. Lincoln Industries/Highgear is hosting a mtb race at Branched Oak Area 7 this Saturday. http://www.psycowpath.com/events/capital-city-challenge.html

See you out there.

3 day weekend...

entering the heart of darkness, meeting Kurtz @ 8:00am at Liebers...

unsure what lies ahead...
scattered remains of those before me...
a guardian...
Kurtz emerges from the mist...
local fare, too risky...
ok, I was going riding. wood-man in the house. At one point Coach, PC, Schlake, me, Craigio, Rick from Gretna, Jason from Omaha, Woodman, & Jesse were all laying down laps. Cornbread rolled in late as we were departing. Folks getting familiar with the layout before next weekend's race out there. Hats off...Craigio & crew have done an awesome job redesigning & grooming this venue. Very nice!

My conveyance. In '03 I built up this SS. Spot frame with a Pace carbon rigid fork. Its been in Wilderness many years ago & I've been commuting to work on it for years. Yesterday was its first taste of "real" off road. It jammed! Had a blast! 36x17 was perfect. I'll admit I was a little beat down from rockin' the fully rigid 26'r, but I'm not a mtb'r so its too be expected. As the day wore on I relaxed more & worked on letting things flow. Went home wasted, all smiles.

yesterday part 2. State Fair. This was my favorite drawing. Jesus emerges from his tomb with a chopper waiting for him. It was titled "Your Chariot Awaits". Oh yeah!

Craigio had multiple drawings enetered. Not only entered, I saw 2 blue ribbons, a 2nd , & an honorable mention. Way to go dude!
no comment...
The Bud Clydesdales were very cool.
Showing off how they back into a loading dock back in the day. Impressive.
D St. gravel today. Hope everyone has had a good one so far.
