Summer Bike League

You've got to start somewhere. Beautiful night for a group ride with the kids. Kevin has been working w/ the Parks & Rec to get a kids summer bike program started. 6 kids & 6 adults gathered @ Antelope park & we did a 8 mile? loop to Holmes Lake. Checked out a sailboat race & headed back.

WNW - Day 1 of Summer

90+ and as humid as you can get. Unsure why we had one of the biggest turnouts on the grossest day of the year so far? Proof cyclists aren't always the sharpest tack in the drawer, does that even make sense? Sharpest tool in the shed, any better?

Blew out my rear tire on the way back in. Thanks to the Kevin's, one for the assist because I couldn't even see w/ the sweat stinging my eyes & the other Kevin for the loan of his spare tire.

Something was amiss w/ my HR. Read 200+ the whole ride.

TNC

This is NE not KS. Trying to get a TNC event on the radar is in its infancy. If you don't know what TNC stands for.......well I'm not going to help you. The usual suspects were there last night, 3 of us fools looking to do some speed work. Ended up being a pretty sweet workout. Later.

Accidental 127

Still together @ this point, Marc not pictured. The directional mutiny has yet to occur. Sometimes the best plan is no plan at all. About 1 mile after this picture was taken it was down to Kevin & myself.
NE wind, east on O St., first stop Weeping Water. Never been there, friendly folks gave us
directions out of town & off we went.
Ended up on an adventure ziggin' and zaggin', never lost but actually not exactly sure where we were going to pop out. Well...ended up in Plattsmouth.
Might as well head for Highgear(our sponsor shop) in Omaha. Checked out the Papillion crit course said hi to Mark Savery @ the shop, Kev tightened his cassette & tailwind home. 127.
My feet woes continue, new shoes are on the horizon.

Holly calls this Neoplitan ice cream.

Finally figured how to get pictures off my cell phone. Photo taking is a state of mind & I'll have to work on taking more.

Random CX pic

Raining right now, internet surf, '08 cx schedule search, need to get some more stuff on ebay.
Boulder Resevoir last November, 35+, 20th place/63 finished more started. Could have placed higher, I think, but have to respect the altitude. Went out a bit easier than usual. This is a sandy switchback after a volleyball pit sand section.
Started talk about traveling to Louisville for the USGP weekend at the end of October. Boulder weekend is right after that, might be a challenge hitting both.
Last night Scott Stevens Army band played a show @ Antelope park band shell, beautiful night. Matt & Jill T, Jim & Jan T, & Scott's fiance Tonia(still unsure how she spells it), myself & Holly.
Holly just cooked up breakfast burritos, put back 3 & then ate more eggs & hashbrowns out of the pan. Dammit! She treats me good. Burned 6700 calories yesterday on our 3 state 176 miler, new longest ride. The 3 state part was easy it was the 50+ headwind finish back in NE that was brutal. The other fools who joined me were Kevin & Corey. Feel pretty good today, raining now but hopefully a spin later.
As far as any frequency or continuity to this blog....expect nothing & you won't be disappointed.
